Description

The Fishhook is much larger... this is the shank of the hook...

The GalaxyMap compilation is worth a read:

Sometimes called the Fishhook nebula, Sh 2-245 is one of the largest nebulae in apparent extent in the Sharpless catalog. It appears as a bright hydrogen-alpha ridge towards the southern end of the Orion-Eridanus superbubble. The Orion-Eridanus superbubble is ionised by the total ultraviolet radiation from the Ori OB1 association.

A good overview of the Orion-Eridanus bubble. [1]

The Orion-Eridanus bubble is ionised by members of the Ori OB1 association.[2]

The brightest part of this elongated optical feature is about 1 degree wide but extends for at least 10 degrees and possibly extends to the Barnard Loop. [3]
